About Us
Harmony Center is a Christian Church that is an oasis of inclusiveness in spiritual celebration.
Whether you are a native-born American or an immigrant, gay or straight, man or woman, dark-skinned or light-skinned, monoracial or multiracial, single or in partnership, you are welcome here.
Whether you are Native American, Jewish, African, Bhuddist, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Sufi, or New Age, you are welcome to join us in our Sunday Service of celebration.
You are also welcome to join us for our Tuesday night meditation; where you can quietly listen to and give praise to Great Spirit, God, in your own way, by your own calling.
Just as Lord Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself." - Luke 10:27

Founder of Harmony Center
Preston Maxwell is the founder and Spiritual Director of Harmony Center.
He grew up in a Christian-African household whose practices incorporated the African theme of worshipping God through drumming, singing, dancing and fervent prayer.
His father was a well-respected minister and elder, who knew intuitively that Preston would one day be called to a similar ministry. As a result, he ordained Preston at an early age.
“I did not believe my father at the time, nor did I want to serve God as a minister. I was a typical minister’s kid. I was tired of going to church 7 days a week and living in a ‘fish bowl.’”
His father’s predictions, however, eventually came true as Preston’s inner guidance led him to pursue ministry as a full-time occupation.
Harmony Center arose from this inner guidance. Preston felt guided to create a place where he and others could worship God in their own way.
Preston brings his passion, enthusiasm and love of God to every service and Harmony Center event.
